Context:

Social justice is a matter of efficiency, right? Isn't time used better and resources used better when people's functioning are used to the best extent without dealing with the imagined prejudice of beings?

Statement:

We are a nation where the healthy and highly educated youth are busy either stuck at their desk jobs or managing other people from their desks,
and where the older and illiterate classes do the menial work, solely because of their lack of qualification for the aforementioned desk jobs.

This can be easily determined with the exercise presented in 20240613_HierarchyOfNeeds&Caste_pen.

Exploration:

  1. I know it's easy to dismiss that the latter aren't skilled enough to take on the mentally demanding desk jobs that the former occupies mostly. But it's also easy to forget that the latter are skilled in one job or the other, and only a fateful connection between supply and demand needs to be met.
  2. This becomes a wasted opportunity for only one purpose; there isn't anyone else left to do the manual labor because the energetic, younger part of the workforce isn't keen on getting their hands dirty.
  3. It also becomes an inefficient outcome because the older workforce, while definitely skilled in manual labor due to repeated exposure, are still lacking in terms of long-term ambition. When energy levels, physical aptitude, health conditions, sources of motivation, etc. all favor the young, why should we subject the old to face their problems anew?
    Because they're unable to qualify for jobs we haven't yet conceived?
  4. And what about the insights required to make the manual work easier in the first place? Shouldn't the younger, more able-bodied population also be willing to learn, from direct experience, the risks surrounding any proposal they make regarding their government's or company's ground operations?

Isn't there a big disconnect here?

What if education was directed in ways

  1. to help the older cohorts work more desk jobs in ways their experience can be effectively utilized?
  2. and the younger cohorts volunteer/obligate to take on the brunt work as well?

Make no mistake; this involves a MASSIVE SIMULTANEOUS undertaking between 2 generations of professional workers who have almost completely drifted apart from each other.

  1. The EWS older populations must be given a comprehensive education for the mental work that is required for their desk job training,
  2. and the richer, younger populations must be motivated to sacrifice their entertainment privileges and directly engage in the brunt work, which also acts as their empathetic realization over the bottom rungs of society.

Okay, but why the sacrifice of entertainment? Well, that's because of the possibility that 20240813_EntertainmentRuinedUs_pen].

A systematic division of labor balanced neatly on both skill and desire, ensuring that the most people get to do both what they want and what needs to be done.

This also ensures a stable balance between physical and mental work for all generations and classes depending on their age and pre-existing socio-economic conditions.
